Idrees Azad
Idris Azad, a multifaceted intellectual whose work bridges the divide between rigorous academic philosophy and the creative arts. Born in Khushab and holding a Master’s degree in Philosophy from the University of the Punjab, Idris Azad is a rare polymath—a philosopher, novelist, poet, dramatist, and academic who has left a significant mark on the Pakistani intellectual landscape.
Currently serving as an educator of logic and philosophy at the International Islamic University in Islamabad, he is widely respected for his innovative philosophical contributions, most notably his work on socio-biological evolution and the concept of "freedom from Earth-rootedness." He possesses an exceptional ability to tackle complex and often controversial subjects through a logical and scientific lens, maintaining a progressive and balanced perspective that invites deep critical thinking.
His literary footprint is vast, encompassing over eighteen books that span diverse genres, including history, mysticism, journalism, and fiction. His novels, such as Sultan Muhammad Fateh and Ibn e Attaash, demonstrate his command over historical narrative, while his philosophical texts continue to challenge contemporary thought. Beyond the written word and the lecture hall, he is also a dynamic force in the creative industry; he currently leads the Department of VFX & CGI at the Paragon Academy of Performing Arts and contributes his expertise to film direction, proving that his scientific and analytical mind is matched only by his creative vision. We are honored to host an individual who so seamlessly integrates the worlds of science, literature, and the performing arts.
