Syed Sadiq Shah

It is a privilege to introduce our resource person for today, Mr. S. Sadiq Shah, a distinguished public finance expert and the current Director of Budget and Accounts at the Peshawar High Court. With a career defined by high-level financial oversight and academic rigor, Mr. Shah has served in his current BPS-20 leadership role since 2016, where he holds primary responsibility for the overall supervision of the budget and accounts for both the High Court and the District Courts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

His professional trajectory reflects a deep commitment to both public service and private sector best practices. Before assuming his current leadership position, he served as a Budget Officer at the Peshawar High Court and held significant roles at the Accountant General’s office. Notably, his expertise is augmented by a rigorous background in external audit and consultancy, having completed a three-year professional tenure with Deloitte, a global leader in the accounting field.

Mr. Shah’s qualifications represent a comprehensive mastery of finance. He is a Chartered Management Accountant, certified by ICMA Pakistan, and holds a Public Sector Professional Qualification through the SAS/PIPFA program. Currently, he is further advancing his academic expertise as a PhD scholar in Finance at Abasyn University. With his unique vantage point—spanning the complexities of government accounting procedures and the disciplined methodology of private sector auditing—he brings an invaluable depth of practical knowledge to our session today.
