Mohammad Ali Babakhel 

Education

Mohammad Ali Babakhel is a member of the Police Service of Pakistan and belongs to the 24th CTP. He currently serves as the Additional Inspector General of Police, Operations, in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
Mr. Babakhel holds a Master's degree in Journalism, a post-graduate diploma in International Human Rights Law, and post-graduate diploma in Women's Laws.
Over the past 30 years, he has worked in various international, federal, and provincial law enforcement organizations. As an ASP, he worked in Bannu, Charsadda, and Peshawar. He also served as SP Headquarters Peshawar, DPO Karak, DPO Loralai, SP (Operations) in Quetta, Additional Chief Security Officer to the Prime Minister, SSP M.1, M.2, SSP-N.5 in the Motorways Police, and A.I.G (General). As DIG, he held positions such as DIG Telecommunications, RPO D.I.Khan, Mardan, Hazara, and CCPO Peshawar. He has also served as Additional IGP Headquarters and Additional IGP Investigation.

In 2018-2019, he completed the National Security and War course at the National Defense University. Mr. Babakhel is recipient of the University Gold Medal, Hameed Nizami Gold Medal, and an "Excellence Award" in Hostage Negotiations Course in the USA. He has attended number of courses and conferences abroad and has visited 33 countries.
Counter-extremism, counter terrorism, and criminal justice system reforms are his areas of interest. He is the author of three books, including the"Pakistan in-between Extremism and Peace." Mr. Mohammad Ali Babakhel regularly contributes to the daily Dawn and Express Tribune. He is visiting faculty member at leading civil service and military institutions, police academies, and academic institutions in Pakistan and abroad.
