Justice (R) Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday

Education

We are honored to welcome Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday, former hon’ble judge Supreme Court of Pakistan, a distinguished jurist. Born in 1945 in Lahore, he has had an illustrious career spanning the Bar, the Bench, and academia.

His lordship was enrolled as an Advocate of the subordinate courts in 1969, the High Court in 1971, and the Supreme Court in 1976. He held key offices, including Assistant Advocate General in 1976, Additional Advocate General in 1984, and Advocate General, Punjab in 1987.

His lordship was elevated as a Judge of the Lahore High Court in 1988and Judge Supreme Court of Pakistan in January 2002. His tenure on the Supreme Court was marked by an enduring commitment to judicial independence, constitutional supremacy, and the rule of law

Beyond the Bench, Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday has remained deeply engaged with legal education for over three decades. He has served as visiting faculty at premier institutions, including the Civil Services Academy, National Defence University, National School of Public Policy, and Lahore University of Management Sciences, and has delivered lectures internationally, including at Harvard University.

In recognition of his services, he was awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz and conferred an honorary Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) by Guru Nanak Dev University, India.
