KPJA CONCLUDES COMPREHENSIVE ONE-WEEK LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT TRAINING FOR SENIOR CIVIL JUDGES / AALA ILAQA QAZIS (BATCH-II) (21-26 SEPTEMBER, 2026)

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA), Peshawar, successfully organized and concluded a One-Week Training on Leadership & Management with Focus on Personal Wellbeing for Senior Civil Judges / Aala Ilaqa Qazis (Batch-II) from September 21 to 26, 2026. Executed under the institutional framework approved by the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP), the intensive six-day program brought together Senior Civil Judges representing various districts across the province to strengthen administrative competencies, public financial stewardship, strategic governance, and personal resilience within the district judiciary. The training was structured around a blended experiential learning methodology incorporating discourses, simulations, and interactive scenario-based exercises.

The proceedings commenced with a formal inaugural ceremony where Mr. Justice S.M. Attique Shah, Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court and Chairman of the Board of Governors of KPJA, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Welcoming the participants, Mr. Kalim Arshad Khan, Director General of KPJA, highlighted the Academy’s statutory commitment to building institutional capacity and administrative excellence. Delivering the keynote address, Chief Guest Mr. Justice S.M. Attique Shah emphasized that the role of a Senior Civil Judge has evolved into a multi-dimensional function that requires a 360-degree leadership approach, balancing judicial adjudication with human resource supervision, financial stewardship, and case-flow management. He urged the judicial officers to combine strategic decision-making and administrative efficiency with emotional self-regulation, stress resilience, and ethical clarity to reinforce public trust in the administration of justice.

The academic progression on Day-1 opened with a course brief by Dean Faculty Mr. Ahmed Iftikhar. Dr. Irfan Ahmad, Principal at the Institute of Tender Management, Lahore, led a specialized lecture on the philosophy of public procurement and value for money, examining regulatory compliance and procurement transparency in judicial administration. Subsequent sessions on the first day focused on human resource management led by Mr. Jamal Shah Mahsood, Director Instructions at KPJA, and judicial accounts management led by Mr. Ahmed Iftikhar. On Day-2, Dr. Jamal Yousaf, Former Federal Secretary, led an extended interactive session on effective leadership communication skills. This was followed by a lecture on judicial record management led by Mr. Ahmed Iftikhar, and a session on maintaining physical health and nutrition led by Dr. Zia from The Agriculture University, Peshawar.
