KP Judicial Academy Concludes Five-Day Professional Development Course for Young Lawyers of Bannu Division (8-12 September , 2025)

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA) successfully concluded its five-day Professional Development Course for Young Lawyers of Bannu Division, held at the Divisional Headquarters, Bannu, from September 8 to 12, 2025.

A total of 70 young lawyers from Bannu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, and North Waziristan participated in the program, which aimed to strengthen their legal knowledge, courtroom skills, and professional ethics.
Academic Activities

Day 1
The course began with sessions on Legal Drafting – Common Mistakes (Syed Yasir Shabbir, DSJ Karak), Civil Case Management (Mr. Ahmed Iftikhar, Dean Faculty KPJA), Technology for Lawyers (Mr. Zulfiqar Khan Kakar, Web Developer KPJA), and Law of Suit Valuation & Court Fee (Syed Yasir Shabbir).

Day 2
Sessions focused on Jurisdiction of Civil Courts (Mr. Wajid Ali, Director Instructions KPJA), Judicial Service & Competitive Exams (Mr. Ghulam Hamid, SCJ Karak), Revenue Records (Mr. Hafiz Muhammad Hanif, Advocate Bannu), Family Laws & Role of Lawyers (Ms. Nadia Gul Wazir, SCJ Family Court Lakki Marwat), and Effective Communication Skills (Dr. Syed Hanif Rasool, Khushal Khan Khattak University).

Day 3
The day featured lectures on Child Justice – JJSA 2018 & CP&W Act 2010 (Mr. Wajid Ali), Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) (Ms. Zainab Rehman, Judge Consumer Court Bannu), Pre-Trial Criminal Proceedings (Mr. Dost Muhammad Khan, DI KPJA), Temporary Injunctions (Mr. Aziz Ahmad, SCJ Karak), and a Discourse on Precedents (Mr. Dost Muhammad Khan).

Day 4
Training sessions included Criminal Trial Management (Mr. Iftikhar Durrani, Advocate), Appeal & Revision under CPC & CrPC (Mr. Muhammad Naseem, DSJ Bannu), two sessions on the Law of Inheritance and the Succession Act 1925 (Dr. Qazi Attaullah, SD R&P KPJA), and the Art of Cross Examination (Mr. Muhammad Rasheed Khan Dirmakhel, Advocate).

Day 5
The final academic day covered the Fundamentals of the Law of Evidence (Mr. Ahmed Iftikhar) and Legal & Professional Ethics (Hon’ble Justice Muhammad Tariq Afridi, Judge PHC Bannu Bench).

Concluding Ceremony

The Concluding Ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Justice Muhammad Tariq Afridi, Judge Peshawar High Court (Bannu Bench), as Chief Guest. Also present were Hon’ble Justice Abdul Fayaz, Judge PHC Bannu Bench, Mr. Rashid Ullah Kundi, Additional Registrar PHC Bannu Bench, a representative of the Peshawar High Court Bar Association, and Mr. Wajid Ali, Director Instructions KPJA.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Ahmed Iftikhar, Dean Faculty KPJA, highlighted the objectives of the training and commended the enthusiasm of the participants. Speaking on behalf of the young lawyers, Mr. Johar Yaqoob, Class Representative, appreciated the Academy’s efforts and acknowledged the value of the program.

Hon’ble Justice Tariq Afridi, in his address, encouraged young lawyers to uphold professional ethics, maintain decorum in court, and continue lifelong learning as part of their legal journey.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants, marking the successful completion of the training program.
