The Hon'ble Judges of the august Supreme Court of Pakistan visited the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA), Peshawar on August 11, 2025.
The delegation comprised Mr. Justice Jamal Khan Mandokheil, Mr. Justice Muhammad Hashim Kakar, Mr. Justice Shakeel Ahmed, and Mr. Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim. The Hon'ble Judges were received by Mr. Justice S.M. Attique Shah the Hon'ble Chief Justice/Chairman of the KPJA, Mr. Justice Ijaz Anwar the Hon'ble Senior Puisne Judge/Vice Chairman of the KPJA and KPJA Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari, the worthy Director General of the KPJA.
During the visit, the Hon'ble Judges visited various Wings of the Academy and were briefed on the range of training programmes offered for Judges, Lawyers, Police Officers, Prosecution, Jail Officers, Court Staff and Paralegals, besides other stakeholders of the Justice System. The Hon'ble Chief Justice and Senior Puisne Judge highlighted the Academy’s specialized capacity-building initiatives organized for Judicial Officers and other stakeholders, dealing with cases of Merged Districts, in the wake of merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The worthy Director General Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari delivered a detailed presentation of the Academy’s activities, achievements, issues and challenges and the positive impact of these programmes on the Judicial Performance. The Hon'ble Judges appreciated the efforts of the Academy.
The Hon'ble Judges emphasized the importance of sustainable institutional support for the academy and asked the worthy Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ensure timely financial assistance for its operations.
