The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA), in partnership with Rozan, a non-governmental organization, successfully concluded a two-day career counseling program for women lawyers on February 3rd and 4th, 2025. The program focused on encouraging women's participation in judicial service, enhancing their legal knowledge and skills, building confidence and professional responsibility, promoting gender parity and leadership, and fostering mentorship and networking within the legal profession.
The program featured expert-led sessions on a range of crucial topics. Mr. Babar Bashir, Managing Director Rozan, led a session on "Gender Mainstreaming through Gender Parity." Dr. Sabeen Hayat, Assistant Professor of English at IM Sciences, focused on enhancing "Effective Communication Skills," particularly English writing abilities. Mr. Zia ur Rehman, Dean Faculty KPJA, provided participants with insights into the "Legal & Judicial System of Pakistan." Dr. Qazi Ataullah, Senior Director (Research & Publications) KPJA, concluded the first day with an "Orientation on Personal Law," emphasizing Islamic jurisprudence and family law.
The program's second day featured an orientation session on the Judicial Service Competitive Examination, led by Ms. Fatima Murad, Civil Judge, Peshawar, and Mr. Kamal Farid Tanoli, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Kohat. Mr. Mazhar Ali Khan, Civil Judge/OSD PHC, delivered a lecture on Civil Law. The day concluded with a session on Criminal Law presented by Mr. Nasir Khan, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Matta.
The concluding ceremony was presided over by Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari, Director General of KPJA, who also presented certificates to the participants.
