Inauguration of Pre-Service Training of Civil Judges-cum-Judicial Magistrates/Illaqa Qazis (2019)

Pre-Service Training (PST) of the newly recruited Civil Judges-cum-Judicial Magistrates/Illaqa Qazis  started in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy.43 judicial officers have been recruited after qualifying competitive examination conducted by the KP Public Service Commission.

The PST was inaugurated in a simple but graceful ceremony at KP Judicial Academy. Mr. Ahmad Sultan Tareen, Legal Draftsperson, Peshawar High Court was the Chief Guest. Inaugural ceremony was also attended by Mr. Muhammad Bashir, the Director General of the Academy, Dr. Shakeel Azam Awan, Dean faculty, Mr. Ashfaque Taj, Senior Director Admin, Mr. Suhail Sheraz Noor Saani, Station Director Radio Meezan, Mr. Amjad Zia Saddiqee, Senior Director Research & Publication, Mr. Inamullah Wazir, Director Instruction-I and Mr. Ahmed Iftikhar, Director Instruction-II.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation from the Holy Qur‘an.Mr. Ahmad Sultan Tareen, Legal Draftsperson, Peshawar High Court presented an overview of the training course. Mr. Muhammad Bashir, the Director General,warmly welcomed the trainees. He delivered an impressive and inspiring welcome speech. He acknowledged the contributions of faculty of the Academy for their day and night hard work to prepare the PST course. He said thatJudicial officers should dispense justice under all circumstances as administering justice in Islam is a great worship. He further said that Judgeship is more than a profession; it is a mission. A Judge is expected to hold the scales of justice even without any fear or favour and  without allowing  personal emotions to over-ride the sense of justice.

Director General, Academy said that  the tier of civil judges is nucleus of the district judiciary. They are civil judges, judicial magistrates, Qazis and judge family courts. Therefore, they need a higher degree of professional competence.

While elaborating the aim of the training program, DG, KPJA said that this training course aimed at developing competent and effective cadre to improve the delivery system in Judicial sector. He said that this five weeks pre-service training is an opportunity to get practical knowledge of their job for the participants and also taking full advantage of the experience and practice of  experienced judicial officers.

 Later on, Dr. Shakeel Azam Awan, Dean of Faculty, KPJA, Mr. Ahmed Iftikhar, Director Instructions, KPJA and Mr. Zulfiqar Khan, Web Developer, KPJA delivered lectures on CPC, understanding the doctrine of Precedents and IT skills (basic essential for court business) respectively.
