Peshawar, November 11, 2025 — A delegation from Shirkat Gah – Women’s Resource Centre, Lahore, led by Ms. Humaira Mumtaz Shaikh, Director Programs, visited the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA) to discuss the initiative “Women Accessing and Delivering Justice in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” under a UN Women Pakistan-funded project. The visit aimed to explore ways to improve gender parity and promote gender-responsive justice delivery in the province.
Mr. Jehanzeb, Director General KP Judicial Academy, welcomed the delegation and appreciated Shirkat Gah’s continued efforts to advance women’s empowerment through justice sector reforms. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Hina Khan, Senior Director (Research & Publications); Ms. Faryal Zia Mufti, Senior Director (Administration); and Mr. Wajid Ali, Director (Instructions).
During the meeting, both institutions discussed avenues of mutual cooperation and agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in training, capacity-building, and knowledge exchange activities. The proposed partnership will focus on enhancing institutional capacities to ensure a more inclusive and equitable justice system for women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The session concluded with a shared commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s meaningful participation in the justice system, contributing to a fair and responsive judicial framework in Pakistan.
