Three-Day Judicial Training on Digital Evidence and Witness Protection Concludes at KP Judicial Academy (19-21 August, 2025)

Peshawar, August 21, 2025:
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA), in collaboration with NACTA, the European Union, and UNODC, concluded a three-day training for judges on digital evidence, witness protection, and emerging technologies.
The training focused on the judiciary’s role in handling electronic evidence, ensuring fair trials, and addressing challenges posed by digital transformation. Key sessions included Witness Protection Legislation by Mr. Abubakar Nauman, a group exercise on Judicial Decisions Based on Digital & Electronic Evidence by Mr. Shahid Shafique, and training on AI tools for case law analysis and judgment drafting by Mr. Muhammad Abubakar.
On the final day, Mr. Farhan Nawazish (UNODC) delivered sessions on Virtual Assets in Crimes and their legal challenges. The Director General KPJA, Mr. Jahanzeb Shinwari, and Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court, Mr. Justice S.M. Attique Shah, addressed the closing ceremony, highlighting the judiciary’s responsibility to embrace technological advancements.
The event concluded with certificate distribution, marking another milestone in strengthening judicial capacity and fostering innovation in Pakistan’s justice system.
