JUSTICE SECTOR REFORMS: CAPACITY UPLIFT OF PARALEGALS (PETITION WRITERS) 30TH JANUARY, 2025

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA) conducted a one-day training session focused on capacity building for paralegals, specifically petition writers, from several districts including Mansehra, Haripur, Abbottabad, Battagram, Kolai Palas, and Upper & Lower Kohistan. Twenty paralegals participated in the training.
This initiative underscores the KPJA's commitment to justice sector reforms and aims to bolster public trust in the justice system. The training program pursued several key objectives like Reinforcing commitment to ethical practices and professional conduct, Updating legal knowledge and enhancing comprehension of relevant laws, rules, and procedures, Refining professional skills for effective and efficient service delivery and improving service delivery skills in interactions with other justice sector stakeholders.
Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari, Director General KPJA, welcomed the participants during the inaugural session.  Mr. Zia-ur-Rehman, Dean of Faculty, led the first session, focusing on a "Course Brief & Interactive Discourse on Paralegal Business." Mr. Wajid Ali, Director Instructions, facilitated a session on substantive and procedural laws, addressing irregularities, challenges, and applications of relevant legal provisions.
The final session, led by Ms. Faryal Zia Mufti, Director Instructions covered "Maintenance of Records," with a specific focus on the production of registers in evidence, consignment of registers, and associated challenges and potential solutions.
Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari concluded the training by presenting certificates to the participants.
