08 WEEKS PRE-SERVICE TRAINING FOR ADDITIONAL DISTRICT & SESSIONS JUDGES / IZAFI ZILLA QAZIS (OCT 23 - DEC 17, 2025) CONCLUDED

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA) successfully concluded the 08 Weeks Pre-Service Training Programme for Additional District & Sessions Judges / Izafi Zilla Qazis, held from October 23 to December 17, 2025. The training was designed to enhance professional competence, judicial ethics, and practical skills of newly inducted judicial officers.
The programme commenced with an inaugural ceremony graced by Mr. Justice S. M. Attique Shah, Honourable Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court and Chairman KPJA, as Chief Guest. Throughout the training, participants underwent an intensive and well-structured academic schedule combining theoretical instruction, practical exercises, study circles, and experiential learning.
The academic content covered a wide range of core judicial subjects, including civil and criminal case management, appreciation of evidence, trial procedures, judgment and order writing, High Court Rules & Orders, disciplinary proceedings, rent and revenue laws, family and juvenile justice, forensic evidence, ADR, court administration, judicial ethics, and emerging areas such as the use of technology and artificial intelligence in courts. Practical components such as mock trials, order-writing workshops, book reviews, and post-training assessments reinforced applied judicial skills.
Distinguished Honourable Judges of the Superior Judiciary, senior District & Sessions Judges, legal scholars, forensic experts, psychologists, and subject specialists served as resource persons, sharing practical insights and professional experience beyond statutory texts. Interactive sessions with Hon’ble Judges of the Peshawar High Court provided valuable guidance on judicial conduct, discretion, and institutional responsibilities.
As part of experiential learning, the trainee judges visited key institutions including the Peshawar High Court, Central Prison Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forensic Science Laboratory, Khyber Medical University, Peshawar Museum, and various administrative wings of the judiciary. A 10-day study tour to Lahore included visits to the Punjab Judicial Academy and Punjab Forensic Science Agency, along with participation in an executive orientation programme at NIPA, broadening institutional and leadership perspectives.
The training also emphasized professional discipline and welfare, with KPJA providing quality accommodation, hostel facilities, mess arrangements, transport, and academic infrastructure, ensuring an environment conducive to focused learning.
The programme concluded with a formal Concluding Ceremony on December 17, 2025, graced by Mr. Justice S. M. Attique Shah, Chief Justice PHC & Chairman KPJA. Mr. Khalid Hussain, Trainee AD&SJ and Class Representative, presented collective reflections on behalf of the trainees, appreciating the Academy’s academic rigor, faculty support, facilities, and administrative arrangements. Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari, Director General KPJA, highlighted the objectives and outcomes of the training and emphasized integrity, professionalism, and continuous learning as cornerstones of judicial service. Certificates were distributed among the participants.
The successful completion of the programme reflects KPJA’s continued commitment to judicial capacity building, institutional strengthening, and the promotion of rule of law through structured and forward-looking judicial education.
