Second Meeting of Board of Governance and visit to the Academy on 4th July, 2012

The meeting of the Board of Governors of the Academy was held today on 4th of July 2012 at Peshawar High Court. The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan the Chairman of the Academy. The meeting was attended by the Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary Finance, Secretary Law & Human Rights Affairs, Advocate General, Registrar, Member Inspection Team, Additional Registrar (Admin) and other members of the Board.
At the start of the meeting a multimedia presentation was given by Dr. Khurshid Iqbal, Dean Faculty the members were informed about the status of Civil Work, the aims and objectives, future plans and the current activities. The Board appreciated the achievements of the Academy. The Board approved the budget for the financial year 2012-13. The board also approved the proposal for making request to the Provincial Government for a grant of Rs. 100 Million. It was also approved that the Provincial Government will help to reduce the price for the permanent acquisition of the land. The Board decided that since the Academy has a mandate to impart training to the personals of other Justice Sector Institutions. Therefore such institutions may be approach through Home Department.
The rules were discussed at length and it was decided that legal experts of Law Department and Peshawar High Court shall co-ordinate to finalize the same. The board also approved the creation of endowment fund.
After the conclusion of the meeting members of the board visited the Academy. They appreciated the pace of the Civil Work and the up to date Digital Equipments installed in the Academy.
