Training of Trainers to commence from Monday 26th November 2012

A six-day training of the trainers’ (TOT) course is scheduled to commence on 26th November 2012, at the KP Judicial Academy.
As many as fifteen Judicial Officers of the District Judiciary and 20 prosecutors from the prosecution department will participate in the course, which will run separately. The TOT is the last phase of a comprehensive and diverse exercise of developing capacity building tools of the personnel of all justice sector Institutions, such as the Judiciary and Court Staff, Prosecution, Bar Members, Police Investigators and ADR Professionals. It is part of Strengthening the K.P. Judicial Academy; a significant component of a UNDP supported Strengthening the Rule of Law in Malakand project (SRLM). The Institute of Management Sciences is providing technical support to this project, which has earlier conducted a Training Needs Assessment (TNA) for the above mentioned personnel of the Justice Sector Institutions. In light of the findings of the TNA, Training manuals for trainee’s as well as trainers were prepared. While the Academy has already launched refresher courses for serving Judicial Officers and is currently devising short courses for Lawyers and Journalists, the TOT, will pave the way for full scale regular trainings.
