KPJA Represents at the Launch of Gender-Fair Language Framework and Coordination Forum (May 21, 2026)

ISLAMABAD / PESHAWAR – May 21, 2026:
Ms. Wadeeya Mushtaq Malik attended the "Launch of Gender-Fair Language and Coordination Forum Meeting" at the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) in Islamabad, representing the Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA).The meeting was organized by the FJA and UN Women, with the collaboration of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. The forum brought together key stakeholders from judicial, legal, international organizations and members of civil society to promote and implement Gender Fair Language Framework.


The formal proceedings commenced with a registration session, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran, the National Anthem, and a welcome note by the Director General of the Federal Judicial Academy. Transitioning into the technical sessions, Ms. Ayesha Wadood, Project Manager (GPP) at UN Women, provided a comprehensive overview of the background of the Training Specialists Coordination Forum and detailed the strategic formulation process of the Gender-Fair Language Guidelines.


Following this introduction, Mr. Fakhar Zaman, Director General of Reforms at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, led an in-depth presentation on the principles of gender-neutral communication, which culminated in the official launch of the Gender-Fair Language Booklet. The international community's solidarity was highlighted in a keynote address by German Embassy representative Ms. Viola Anand, emphasizing global alignment on gender inclusivity within legal frameworks.
The session concluded with progressive closing remarks by Mr. Jamshed Kazi, Country Representative for UN Women, followed by a group photograph. By ensuring active representation at this landmark forum, KPJA reaffirms its commitment to integrating gender-fair language framework and its progressive reform.
