Fourth Six-Day Training Course on “Judgment Writing” to commence from 03 December 2012

The fourth batch of 25 Civil Judge/Judicial Magistrate will commence on 03 December, 2012, at the KP Judicial Academy. The six day course is the fourth in a series of total 17 trainings. Like the previous three similar trainings, this one will also be supported by the UNDP. The main aim of the training course is to sensitize Judicial Officers to the grey areas of judgment writing. They are, for example, improvement in linguistic skills and proper appreciation of fact, law and evidence.


Chief Justice confers certificate on Judges and Prosecutors

In an impressive ceremony at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy, Justice Dost Muhammad Khan, Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court, who is also Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Academy, conferred certificates on 16 District/Additional District and Sessions Judges and 20 Prosecutors at the conclusion of a 6-day Training of Trainer (TOT) of Program. The TOT was part of UNDP’s “Strengthening the Rule of Law Malakand” (SRLM)—a judicial reform intervention focused on efficiency in the justice services delivery in Malakand division.


The TOT was launched at the K.P Judicial Academy

In a simple but impressive ceremony, the training of the trainers program for 15 Judicial Officers and 20 Prosecutors was launched in the newly refurbished auditorium of the K.P Judicial Academy. The six-day course was kicked off with the recitation of Holy Quran and a joint Duá offered by Mr. Muhammad Saleem Khan, Senior Director Administration. Mr. Hayat Ali Shah the Director General of the Academy welcomed both groups of the participants. Dr. Khurshid Iqbal, Dean Faculty gave a briefing about the aims and objectives of the course.


Training of Trainers to commence from Monday 26th November 2012

A six-day training of the trainers’ (TOT) course is scheduled to commence on 26th November 2012, at the KP Judicial Academy.


UNICEF delegates visit Academy on 25 October 2012

Elizabeth Cossar and Sohail Ahmad, Child Protection Specialists visited the Academy today (25 Oct 2010) around 10.00 AM. They expressed their intention to work in partnership with the Academy. The Academy team led by the Director General shared with them a range of information, such as, the statutory mandate of the Academy, the training activities, research studies, seminars and workshops. They visited different parts of the Academy and watched a documentary showing the details about the progress of rehabilitation work, recently conducted trainings, seminars and workshops.


World Bank team visits Academy on 23 October 2012

A team of the World Bank visited the Academy. The team was led by Mr. Sher Shah, Senior Governance Specialist. It visited various sites of the Academy house and was briefed about the pace of the rehabilitation work and other projects, which are being carried out with the support of the Bank through the Governance Support Project of the Provincial Government. Such projects include organizing trainings, seminars, workshops, research and provision of electronic equipments. The distinguished guests keenly watched a seven minutes video prepared by the Academy.


Second Meeting of Board of Governance and visit to the Academy on 4th July, 2012

The meeting of the Board of Governors of the Academy was held today on 4th of July 2012 at Peshawar High Court. The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan the Chairman of the Academy. The meeting was attended by the Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary Finance, Secretary Law & Human Rights Affairs, Advocate General, Registrar, Member Inspection Team, Additional Registrar (Admin) and other members of the Board.


Secretary C & W Visited K.P Judicial Academy on 28th June, 2012

The Secretary Works and Services Zahid Arif visited the Academy on 28th June 2012. He inspected the ongoing Civil Work and issued various directions on the spot to the in-charge Engineer. He directed that a proper P.C-1 shall be prepared for the construction of Mosque at the premises.


Assistant Country Director, UNDP visits Academy on 15th June, 2012

Mr. Azhar Saeed Malik, Assistant Country Director, UNDP, Pakistan, visited the academy today. He was welcomed by Mr. Hayat Ali Shah the Director General and Mr. Saleem Khan, Project Director. Mr. Malik was accompanied by Mr. Ashraf Khan of the UNDP, Peshawar. He discussed progress on the strengthening the K.P Judicial Academy project, which is funded by UNDP. He expressed his satisfaction over the activities carried out till date. Dr.


Academy flies on technology: Conducts First Video Conference

The KPKJA conducted its first video conference today 14.06.2012 in which Dr. Khurshid Iqbal Dean Faculty discussed the input of the academy on the TNA report completed by the Institute of Management Sciences. The Academy conducted the TNA, the first scientifically sound one in the country, with the assistance of the IM Sciences. The video conference was done through skype for 1 hour from 4.30 till 5.30 pm.
